Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

Privacy Policy
Spendworth Group (formerly Miyake Credit Card Consulting) ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do — and don't do — with it.
What we collect
- Contact information — your name and email address, when you book a call, fill out our pre-call survey, or request the handbook.
- Financial context you choose to share — things like which credit cards you hold, approximate monthly spending, an approximate credit score range, and your rewards goals. We only receive what you type into the survey or tell us on a call.
- Booking and payment details — the date and time of calls you schedule, and (for paid services) a payment record. Card numbers go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Usage and device data — aggregate page views and events (which pages are read, which buttons are clicked) collected by our analytics, plus data collected by the Meta advertising pixel on our marketing pages, described under Analytics, advertising & cookies below.
We do not collect card numbers, account credentials, Social Security numbers, or exact credit scores, and we will never ask for them. We do not run credit checks.
How we use it
- To prepare for and conduct your consultation.
- To build and deliver your personalized rewards plan.
- To send the free handbook you requested and a short follow-up email sequence about our services.
- To follow up with you about services you've asked about.
- To understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising.
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not share your survey answers or consultation details with anyone for their own marketing. We have no affiliate relationships with card issuers, so we have no incentive to pass your data to anyone.
Marketing emails
When you request the Points & Miles 101 Handbook, your email address is added to our mailing list and you receive the handbook plus three short follow-up emails about credit card rewards and our services. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any moment — unsubscribing does not affect any consultation you've booked. Booking a call does not by itself add you to the marketing list.
Services we rely on
These processors handle data on our behalf. Each is bound by its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.
- Cal.com (scheduling) — your name, email, and booking details, so we can schedule and run your call.
- Stripe, via Cal.com (payments) — payment details for paid services. Card numbers are handled entirely by Stripe.
- Formspree (form delivery) — your survey answers and handbook signups, delivered to our inbox. Formspree is our record of a submission.
- MailerLite (email marketing) — your email address, to send the handbook and the three-email follow-up sequence, and to record whether those emails were opened or clicked.
- Plausible Analytics (site analytics) — aggregate, cookie-free page and event data. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track visitors across sites.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel (advertising) — loaded on our marketing pages only. It records page views and key actions (such as starting a booking or requesting the handbook) and shares them with Meta so we can measure and target advertising. Meta may use this data under its own policies, including to build advertising profiles.
- Netlify (hosting) — serves this website and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
Analytics, advertising & cookies
We do not set cookies of our own, and our analytics (Plausible) is cookie-free. However, this site is not cookie-free overall:
- The Meta advertising pixel runs on our home page, business page, handbook page, and error page. It can set cookies and share your activity with Meta for advertising measurement and retargeting.
- The Cal.com scheduler sets cookies necessary for booking to work.
We deliberately do not load the advertising pixel on the pre-call survey or on this legal page, because those are where you enter or read the most sensitive information.
You can block all of this with a browser-level tracker blocker, by using your browser's "Do Not Track" or ad-privacy settings, or through Meta's own ad preference controls. Blocking trackers does not affect your ability to book a call or use any part of this site.
How long we keep it
- Survey answers and consultation notes — kept for up to 3 years after our last contact, so we can pick up where we left off if you come back, then deleted.
- Marketing email list — kept until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribed addresses are removed from active sending; a suppression record may be kept so we don't email you again by mistake.
- Payment records — retained by Stripe as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (typically 7 years).
- Server logs — retained by Netlify on their standard short rolling schedule.
- Analytics — aggregate only, never tied back to you individually.
Your rights & how to delete your data
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email Contact@miyakeconsulting.com with the subject line "Data request" and the email address you used. We'll confirm within 5 business days and complete the request within 30 days, including removing you from the mailing list and deleting your survey answers and notes. We will not charge you or ask you to justify the request.
Records we're legally required to retain (such as payment and tax records held by Stripe) can't be deleted on request, and we'll tell you if that applies.
If you're in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights — such as the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA) — those rights apply here too, and the same email address is how you exercise them. We do not sell personal information as those laws define it.
Terms of Service
What we are — and aren't
Spendworth Group (formerly Miyake Credit Card Consulting) provides educational information and independent consulting on credit card rewards strategy. We are not a financial advisor, bank, lender, credit repair service, or credit counseling agency. Nothing on this site or in our consultations constitutes financial, legal, credit, or tax advice. For advice specific to your situation, consult a licensed professional.
Your decisions are yours
Any card applications, account changes, or financial decisions you make are your own. Card approvals, rates, fees, bonuses, and reward values are set by issuers, can change without notice, and are outside our control. We make no guarantee of approval or of any specific rewards outcome, except as expressly stated in a written guarantee.
Who we can work with — the paid-in-full requirement
Credit card rewards are only beneficial when statement balances are paid in full each month. Carrying a balance means interest charges that will outweigh any rewards earned.
For that reason, we do not accept clients who are carrying sizable interest-bearing credit card debt, and we reserve the right to decline or end an engagement on that basis. If this applies to you, we will say so and will not bill you for consulting that cannot help.
We are not a credit counseling agency and we do not provide debt management, debt settlement, or debt repayment planning — those services are outside our scope and are not part of any engagement. If you would like free, impartial assistance, the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (nfcc.org) is a neutral, nonprofit starting point; we receive nothing for this referral and make no representation about the outcome. You are welcome to return once your balances are consistently paid in full.
Payments & refunds
Personal engagements (The Essentials, the Points Path, and Concierge) are one-time purchases, billed at the price shown at booking and processed securely through Stripe. Concierge is a 12-month service paid once up front — it is not a subscription and does not renew automatically. There is no retainer on the personal side.
Business engagements work differently. The free 15-minute call and the written Business Points Path are one-time. Ongoing work is available only as the business retainer at $250 per month, billed monthly on the same date and renewing automatically until cancelled. There is no setup fee, no cancellation fee, and no minimum term. Cancel by email before your next billing date and the retainer ends with that month; months already begun are not refunded.
The Points Path is backed by our $500 value-found guarantee ($1,000 for Concierge), defined below. Fees are charged at the time of booking; where the guarantee applies and is not met, the remedy is a refund of the fee already paid, not a waiver of the charge.
What we do — and never do — on your behalf
We research and advise; you act. We do not log into your card, bank, or loyalty accounts, we never ask for your account credentials, and we do not submit card applications or make bookings for you. Redemption help means we identify the best available options and give you exact booking instructions — program, transfer partner, dates, and expected points cost — which you then book yourself from your own accounts. We never take custody of your points or miles.
Refund requests can be sent to Contact@miyakeconsulting.com.
The value-found guarantee, defined
You pay up front, and the guarantee is a refund — not a charge we withhold. If the guarantee is met, no refund is due. If it is not met and you claim within the window below, your full consulting fee will be refunded.
The agreed baseline. Before we build your plan, we document in writing what your current cards and current strategy earn on the spending you have described to us. You review and sign that baseline. Every guarantee figure is measured as the difference between your delivered plan and that signed baseline, so both sides agree on the starting number before any work begins.
The baseline is built from the spending figures you give us. You may correct those figures once, before we begin building the plan — just reply to the baseline with the corrections and we will reissue it. Once the corrected baseline is signed and work has begun, it is final, and a later disagreement about your own spending figures is not grounds for a claim.
The guarantee applies to identified first-year value: the value your written plan identifies as available to you in the first 12 months, compared against the signed baseline. It is calculated as:
First-year value = incremental rewards + conservative welcome-bonus value + credits you would naturally use − annual fees.
- Incremental rewards — the additional rewards your recommended cards earn on your stated spending, versus what your current cards earn on that same spending.
- Welcome bonuses — included, but only for cards whose spending requirements you can meet with your normal spending, valued conservatively (see point valuation below).
- Statement credits & perks — counted only when they offset spending you told us you already make (e.g. a travel credit if you already travel). Credits you would not naturally use count as $0.
- Annual fees — the full first-year annual fees of all recommended cards are subtracted.
- Point valuation — transferable points are valued at a conservative, routinely achievable cash-equivalent rate for your redemption style — never at exceptional luxury-redemption rates unless such redemptions are realistic for you specifically.
How to claim: if the total identified first-year value in your delivered plan is below the guaranteed amount ($500 for Points Path, $1,000 for Concierge) when measured against your signed baseline, email Contact@miyakeconsulting.com within 30 days of receiving your plan. We will review the plan against the signed baseline and, if the shortfall is confirmed, your full consulting fee will be refunded to the original payment method, normally within 10 business days.
Outside our control. The following are decided by card issuers, banks, airlines, and hotel programs — not by us — and are excluded from the guarantee: whether you are approved for any card; which offers, bonuses, annual fees, and earning rates an issuer chooses to make available to you; changes an issuer or loyalty program makes after your plan is delivered, including devaluations and program terminations; and award seat or award night availability on any given date. A denial, a withdrawn offer, a devalued points currency, or a specific flight or hotel being unavailable is not a shortfall under this guarantee and is not grounds for a refund.
If you are declined for the recommended cards. Approval is the issuer's decision alone. If you are declined for enough of the recommended cards that your plan can no longer reach the guaranteed value, email us within the claim window with the declines and we will revise your plan at no additional charge, rebuilt around the cards you can actually obtain. That revision is the remedy for declines; declines do not trigger a refund.
What the guarantee is not: it covers value identified in your plan, not rewards actually redeemed — earning the value requires you to open the recommended cards and follow the plan, which is your decision alone. The guarantee is measured against the offers publicly available on the date your plan is delivered. It is not a guarantee of card approval, of any specific redemption, or of any particular financial outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spendworth Group is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms and this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version; continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
